If you have a car in the UK requiring a collection service to our facility, we have both open and enclosed trailer options that can be arranged to suit your schedule.

We can assist with the entire process of shipping your car. From container loading to unloading at our UK facility, our expert car handling team takes the utmost care to ensure your vehicle is carefully cared for.

We provide marine insurance for the duration of the process to cover your car in a total loss or significant damage scenario. We deal with everything on your behalf.

Whether your car is already in the UK, due to arrive or we have organised your shipment, we get you cleared through UK customs expediently and efficiently.

We are fully authorised HMRC CDS entry agents with skilled in-house customs staff to handle your import entry.

If your car has been shipped by container, our team will unload it at our private facility. This gives us direct control of the container from port and reduces lengthy port waiting times.

We take exceptional care when unloading cars from containers. We’re not driven by speed of unloading like many port-loading warehouses, we take as much time and care as needed to ensure your car is removed from the container safely.

We conduct a wide array of modifications onsite to ensure your car is compliant with legislation.

There are numerous types of modification, depending on the make and model of your car, and where it is from.

Left-hand drive cars will require modifications to the headlight pattern to avoid glare for oncoming traffic, the speedo to display the miles per hour reading, and the rear fog light if not universally compliant.

American market cars will require a full lighting conversion to comply with UK standards. This comprises 8-10 hours of labour using parts from our extensive in-house supply.

Right-hand drive cars will require fewer modifications usually, as many of their lighting functions are comparable to UK models. Your car may still require a speedometer change.

We have the only privately owned testing site in the UK. It means we can offer in-house IVA, MSVA, and MOT testing. That’s time and money-saving for you.

My Car Import is the only UK company that can personally schedule the date and time for car testing. This prevents your car from leaving our site for road registration and vastly reduces waiting times.

We have a dealer-level account with the DVLA which allows us to register imported cars within 10 working days. We’re specialists in all aspects of registration regardless of the age, type, or style of registration required.

My Car Import has a wealth of knowledge regarding registrations for historic cars. We can source any additional paperwork required to meet the DVLA’s requirements.

Should your car need to be kept at My Car Import beyond the standard import and registration process, we have both outdoor and indoor storage options available. We ensure your car remains charged and ‘on the key’ ready for collection or delivery.

Once your car is registered, you’re free to collect your car from our facility. Alternatively, we can offer both open and enclosed delivery options to transport the car to a UK address of your choice.
